OK, this new blogger is irritating me a little bit...it's not allowing me to type before the first picture. Anyhow, I like the kids to wake up to something on their birthdays. When Adam turned 2, I filled the dining room with balloons because he loved them so much. Abbey had shown some recent fascination with a few Mardi Gras necklaces around the house, so I decided I wanted to surprise her with a pile of jewelry on the table. She LOVED it! As you can see above and below, she started right away to put them on....with determination!
Adam thought they were pretty cool, too and you can see that Abbey was not excited about that. I had to explain to Adam they were Abbey's. The last couple of months, we've cracked down on that because Adam has a habit of....taking her stuff and kind of taking it over.I was very proud of Adam when he went over and returned it to her. I know it wasn't easy!
She stacked every single bracelet on her arm and I caught her behind the chair trying to hide so Adam wouldn't take them :) She got really frustrated that her arm wasn't big enough and crammed them onto her hand.
Laying them out on the kitchen floor....
Later that morning, I gave her a gift from us...a Lego set in girl colors....Adam was fascinated, of course.
Fun to see her really open it as at Christmas she wasn't that interested in unwrapping.
She really liked it for a while, but soon went back to her jewelry....Adam was happy to play with though, of course! She got more jewelry for her birthday from other people, and every day she plays with it still. Nice start to Abbey's second birthday!
I love this. I can appreciate a love for jewelry. You'll be hanging it from towel racks in no time.
