Memorial Day = cottage time. Our dock isn't in but the neighbors are nice evough to let us use their beach walk-in. Abbey is a fish.
We decided it was time to get them comfortable under water. Once Abbey jumped in, she couldn't get enough.
Ellie has Daddy pulling her around, spoiled of course. Then the poor thing was walking at the shore and tripped into the water face first just like when she fell off the dock last year. Scarred for life. We also had limited success with getting Adam to jump in. We pushed too hard. We discussed it with him later.
He said he'd rather try on a pool. I just want him comfortable so he doesn't panic if he finds himself in water. He actually loves swimming, just not his head under. And then we had a cool out and camp fire and all was fun. Then night came. Ellie had a hard time getting to sleep because snd wasn't home. Abbey was hot. Adam slept like a rock. Dogs kept pacing and it turns out Elsa didn't feel well. The only way she would relax was lying on my stomach which is unusual. So I got zero sleep. And then the water pipe burst. It was leaking the night before Todd shut off the water and turned it on to flush the toilet and it burst and flooded. 6am. He says should we call it and go home? Thunderstorms predicted, too. So we did. Cheerfully so the kids would still enjoy the day they had. Home by 9. I do love air conditioning.

Spring Break
It was the last week of April. And it was cold. We started off on Sunday going to Rudy's with Bobby. We had had plans to go on Monday with Toby and Adam was concerned we wouldn't keep them. I assured him otherwise. So on Monday, we drove up to Oswego for my chiropractor and to keep our date. Decided to take pics of Abbey in her favorite dress. Turns out it was freezing.
She was a trooper and tried for a few minutes.
And as it turns out, Rudy's is closed on Mondays!
Adam giving my the eyes in the car.
Ellie upset Abbey got out of the car and she didn't. So we went to Toby's house and played.
My tulips started to bloom.
The kids were reenacting "An Alligator Under My Bed", an older book they love watching the reading of on YouTube.
Big plans on Tuesday morning to go to Zootopia. They couldn't wait.
And it was sold out. We went to the Jungle Book. Did not hold Ellie's attention. Not fun for me.
Wednesday and Thursday, the older two went to Minion Madness Lego camp in the mornings. Abbey was so excited to go to Bricks 4 Kidz for the first time. I picked them up Wednesday and we went to a picnic at a playground. They were thrilled.
Friday afternoon we went to Carvel ice cream and play date with Sawyer. Where it poured. They still played. And Abbey modeling her other favorite dress because why not. I hit everything on our to do list. A decent week.

Open House
Way back in early April the kids had an open house. Abbey was so proud to show me everything.
This blew me away from Adam. He's always getting nagged for being slow. And then I read this. Talk about perspective. Kindergarten and first grade almost over. It flew by.

Baker
Abbey rarely gets into TV. But she just lived cupcake wars and the kid version of it. She started making play dough ones.
And we made some for Daddy. Aunt Carolyn sent her a cupcake cookbook and she wants to try making the pig ones. It's fun to see her intetested but the struggle with three kids is spending the time I want to nurture their interests.
Sprinkles are her favorite part.

Kids' and Parties
A few Saturdays ago both Adam and Abbey had class party invites. They haven't had many so we wanted them to go. I knew the mom from Abbey's class a little so I asked her if I could bring the crew and offered to pay (at a bounce place). She said no problem.
But it was my first 9am birthday party 😂😂. They all had fun. These parties are also a chance for me to observe their social skills. Abbey still needs to learn a lot, but she has a stronger backbone that my sensitive Adam, so that's good.
Cookies at a morning party lol.
Todd came home in time for me to take Adam to a party one of his karate class mates held. He asked if I could be there. He had fun. He fits in better there I think simply because he's more comfortable. Partying upstate style with guns. Ha.

Back on the Bike
Feeling eternally bloated and dealing with aches and pains in my back as well as clearly advancing carpal tunnel, I am currently back in my exercise bike for the first time in awhile. I will be 40. I feel middle aged. And mentally, I like it. Physically, it's a bitch. Spring is finally here, but due to my hands and wrists, it is extremely difficult to walk the dogs and Ellie, all of who need it. Will I lose weight? -probably not. But I know if I can get back into this routine, my body will be healthier.
Ellie is almost entirely day potty trained. I am sending in her pre-k paperwork to Blessed Sacrament for three days a week 830 until 2. Cue expected identity crisis. As much as they drive me crazy, I miss them when they aren't around. Currently trying to finish planning which camps they go to. Childhood 2016 in the 'burbs.
