Adam and Abbey were throwing themselves at the windows today. "Outside Mom?" Adam started asking at breakfast. While the sun was nice, there was still a chill in the air and everyone is just getting over getting sick.
I knew I needed to go to Price Chopper as we had nothing for our Easter meal. So I decided to do a first: take both kids to the grocery store. Adam did pretty well sitting in the basket at Target last week, so I was feeling game.
We went out to the office first to say hi, but the kids got worked up because they wanted to get out of the car. I informed them we were going to the store, let them count the trucks (have I mentioned that ever? Adam LOVES counting the trucks in the yard) and Adam got really excited when he realized there was a bulldozer...as that is his favorite thing the last couple of days. I told him sometime next week, I was sure Daddy would let him ride it.
Price Chopper went well. I had to go fast and zoom in on what I really needed as most stuff had to go under the cart as I couldn't let Adam have access to it right there in the store! In an out in less than hour and I wasn't the least frazzled. Of course, didn't have my coupons. Sigh.
Kids are napping...I think Adam is actually sleeping...I spent the first part of rest time upstairs finishing something I started a couple of weeks ago. I started sorting this big plastic box of my writing. Everything from Daily News clips (no, not all of them....there would be a couple of thousand at least!) to junior high teen angst writing. I had never once sorted that box, just added to it over the years and lugged it around. I got rid of a garbage full of clip duplicates and some REALLY bad stuff. There's still plenty of bad stuff in there, ha, but I didn't read every piece. I was ready to wrap up. I fit it in a box half the size, loosely organized and with a sense of accomplishment, tossed that broken up old plastic black box. For some reason, that felt good.
I feel the need to organize and rearrange...helps when there's a lot of chaos in your nerves to make you feel like at least, your world is a little bit more in order than it was.
We aren't going all out for Easter....I usually don't. I have basket stuff for small baskets for the kids, both Bobby and Holly were welcomed to stop by and I got an Easter ham. But I do believe in God and Jesus and am taking a moment to thank them for their sacrifice.

We are having prime rib for Easter, at my brother's house. Looking forward to sleeping in tonight and enjoying a weekend off.
