Flowers in the Attic

We don't have much of a yard and I knew the kids would get restless over the winter (not that we had much of one), so I thought in the upstairs kitchen I could create a play area.  This is the tower tent Uncle Bobby got them for Christmas....which Adam calls Rapunzel's tower.  (Aunt Tammy got them a tent, too but it's ummm, in recovery).
I also brought their beloved plastic slide up there, which you can kind of see in this photo.  This is from the living room and Abbey is scooting down the few stairs into the kitchen.  Then she slides down her slide and runs all the way into the pantry area, which is another step down.  In a game she plays, she takes these blocks (Christmas gift from Jackie a couple of years ago), runs them to me in the living room, I build a tower then she knocks it over and runs them all back.  Makes her happy!  I have joked that my kids play in the attic like the V.C. Andrews book...Flowers in the Attic....

  1. That is pretty cool having a play apartment upstairs. I used to make our camper into a private apartment.
