Quinten's Birthday

Way back at the beginning of June we went to Quinten's birthday party.  I had been nervous about taking both kids myself around a pool, especially after last year when Adam jumped into the deep end! I was prepared with vests and ready to tackle it.  I dressed them in party outfits to go there and asked them to pose for me.  These are the faces I got.  Oh, so much attitude for such little kids :)  Below, I got a smile from my son!
Abbey's dress is so cute.  An Internet find.
All ready to go.  She put the sunglasses on.  I am in so much trouble as she grows up.
Tell me she isn't adorable!  And maybe a bit scary....
Abbey heads right to the chalk when we get there.

The birthday boy was already swimming in the pool.
Abbey catches sight of little kids at the smaller pool.
She wants in.
I take them into the sun room to change.  Quicker than I thought.  Jay and Mr. Campbell were watching the party from inside.  Mr. Campbell passed away shortly after and it's nice to know he was enjoying himself that day.
Got them in and ready to go.  To my surprise, they had no interest in the big pool I was so worried about!  Abbey especially just loved that blow up pool, even diving in.  Jay pulled me aside and pointed out I was going to have to watch out for her.  Several people commented on her bravery.  That's my Abbey.
Like she's saying Hi MOM!
Adam loved it, too and did ask to go into the big pool once he noticed it.  Drisa was nice enough to keep an eye on Abbey while I walked him in, but he didn't want to stay in it and ended up back with Abbey.  They prefer to play together usually when we go somewhere.  Like salt and pepper.
Abbey was taking all the balls back and forth between the two kiddie pools.
Time for cake!
Come on Mom, let's light those candles!!
Great job! Adam said.  He loved singing Happy Birthday.  After I swatted his hand from the cake.
Love this picture!  Afterwards, there was a pinata and Adam was all set to try it in line, but it got broken quickly.  He scooped up some candy and ended the day "playing" pinball with a bigger boy was very politely and nicely allowing Adam to "play" it with him.  I don't know the kid's name, but it was very nice.  Abbey was all over and ate nothing but cake basically.  After a couple of hours, it was time to head out.  The kids had a great time and all went well.  And to think that Quinten is 7 is CRAZY!  He's got a great sense of humor, is smart and just loves the A-Team.
The Morans made it up that day, too and later I went out with Jackie and Jenn, almost like the old days.  Except I'm 5 years older and one drink puts me to sleep.  Nice end to the day.
