This morning, we met Todd's bff Terry "Harry" Potter and his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson Ethan for breakfast at the Mapleview Truck Stop for breakfast. The few times I've been there I really, really liked their food...and it's about 30 minutes north for us and half the time for the from Richland. And Todd and I usually go to breakfast once a weekend...we like diners and breakfast out AND dinners out are hard with the A-Team!
Harry Potter is about 60 and wears glasses befitting his namesake. He wears overalls ALL the time, so much that when his son got married last year, he changed back into them as soon as the ceremony was over. Seriously. Well, it probably helped since their were smoke cooking the lunch on the back of a pick-up :). He really cares about Todd and that makes me like him.
His son's name is Jason, but for some reason he goes by Jake. Todd doesn't know why...some day I may just ask. Debbie, his wife, is rather reserved. Jake is also a race car driver...I forget which, but it's dirt. Jake's wife Theresa is young...she seems friendly enough and their son Ethan, about 4 months younger than Adam, illustrates how big Adam is. It literally looks like Adam could eat this kid for breakfast. He's soft-spoken and a sweetie....and Adam, is strong-willed and funny. Solid and knows what he wants. Yeah, he looked like he could pick this kid up and sling him under his arm. I am glad that Adam also has a soft heart and hopes it helps him use his size for good and not evil :)
The men got the buffets and we ordered breakfast, waiting a full 45 minutes for it to arrive. Adam fell in love with one of Ethan's cars and I eventually had to just take it from him. He was mad, but he dealt with it pretty well. He was picky with his food, but LOVED this mini-muffins, eating 5...I had to break them up as he shoved the first one in his mouth. Meanwhile, little Ethan is eating bird bites of egg with a fork. ( Can I say that I can't help it, I love that my son is just such a BOY??? As his mom, I'm sure I'd adore it if he were the opposite. But it just cracks me up Especially since, with a mouth full of blueberry muffin, I got an impromptu kiss....a rare event from my son and it just melts my heart. I'll take that spitty muffin all over my lips, no problem!!!)
Abbey was happy watching everyone and of course, getting held. Theresa didn't quite get for a bit that Abbey has a LONG reach now and NOTHING is too big for her to try and destroy!

I like that even though it is work...you still pack the kids up and take them out when you want to.
