Stopping to take note of Adam's language skills, I really paid attention today as he isn't a huge talker. He said ow when he hit his foot and good, good, good when I asked him how his breakfast and lunch were. When I said "Abigail Marie!" he repeated Abigail...sounding like Ab-gail. I asked him some body parts and he gave me the one eyebrow, but later humored me with teeth and mouth (he already has done eyes and nose and said those again today.). He said "hi" to my Mom's dog and said "Grandma!". Well, there was more but I got the picture he is doing fine. I'll just keep encouraging him to label things, but when he saw the Butler garbage truck, I tried to get him to wave bye...and to my mom, too, and he gave me the one eyebrow. I take that to mean...I don't think, so mom!

Adam Today
I heard Adam in his crib this morning, the sound I listen for each day. Sometimes he's grumpy because he feels I should've known the instant he was up, so I do different things to snap him out of his bad mood. Today I could hear it in his voice so before I opened the door, I said "Where's my Adam? Oh, Adam! I'm coming to get my Adam!" Then I burst the door open and said "There he is!!!" He grinned and I knew we were good. I took him out and kissed him and put him down. He noticed his sister on the dining room floor, someone he has been hot and cold for lately, and went and laid down on her leg, cuddling her. It was so sweet...until she reached down and grabbed his curls! He yelled, she laughed...oh my!

This morning, he discovered the uncarpeted piece of linoleum in the dining room made a great race track. When it crashed, he flipped it over to fix it! So cute...just like Daddy.
When he went to Grandma's later, I guess he didn't forget the lesson that hard floors make great race tracks...he started racing his cars there all over her wood floors, setting up a "track" lane behind her couch. I saw a glimpse of the future...as Abbey crawled through his set-up more than once, he would get frustrated!
As we were leaving, he was barefoot and discovered the joy of splashing in all the puddles in her driveway. His grin was irreplaceable. When we got home, he was so excited to help Mama carry Abbey up the stairs, leaning in to her as she waited to go up the steps and saying "hi" and trying to help her out. Yep, just another day as Adam....

I love his sweet little relationship with his sister. He is so lucky to be able to stay home with both of you.
