Look hard and you can see that this Abbey in the back seat of the Mazda as we got ready for the movie to start. This is from my cell phone, I was so excited I had to at least kind of capture the moment!
They got restless right away, wanting to get out of their seat; sensing something exciting was about to happen. We put Abbey in Daddy's lap and Adam mine. And it started. They could not hold still. I don't mean silently sit in our laps, because our kids NEVER do that, but they were really itching to get up and ear stuff around. Abbey was acting exhausted and though it was bedtime, she had taken a late and long nap so we had thought we'd be good that night. We assured ourselves that once the the movie began, they'd relax as at home when there's a movie on they love they watch. We thought Abbey might get bored but we were sure Adam wouldn't.
Abbey had it rough right away and I took her. She cried a couple of times and kind of settled down in a half tired daze about 20 minutes into the movie while Adam mostly watched...he was fascinated at first when the screen lit up. But for some reason Adam couldn't contain himself. He was talking and yelling and whenever poor Abbey was almost asleep (that tells you how tired she was) he'd do something to startle her. He couldn't stop grabbing at the controls and just bouncing off the walls. Whenever McQueen was on the screen, he'd pay attention it seemed, but this movie was more about Mater and it wasn't enough to keep him into it! We stuck out the movie and left and it was clear Adam had found the whole thing very exciting but we decided...probably could wait another year until our next trip :)
Haha...oh the adventures of raising little ones.
