Mommy is Dragging Me Around the Carousel Center
On September 9, I took the A-team to Carousel to get Adam shoes....he has to get them from Stride Rite because he has extra-extra-wide feet! I had noticed the week before that Adam needed new shoes. To be honest, I should say that when I was putting his shoes on he started yelling. And I was like Knock it Off Adam! Then I looked at his feet and there was a blister on his toe. Ok, not a day for mother of the year....! Anyhow, I get him there and when they measure his feet...it turns out he had outgrown his 6xx and was into a 71/2xx. Um, yeah, maybe I should have noticed?? BUT they didn't have a single shoe of that size in the store. So I had to go home and order them online. And I had to go to Syracuse to find that out. I guess I needed them to measure his foot anyhow. And, of course, I had to stop at The Children's Place and get pants (they have nice buttons in the waistline that help fit Adam's cute belly. And I swear that's it, except the adorable cardigan I got for Abbey's portrait. And a dress for her. Here they are in the changing area in front of the restroom at the food court. They were both pretty good, but they had had it by then. (And Adam had just sat like a BIG BOY at the food court table. I informed him if he moved, he'd be strapped in so quick his head would spin. The threats worked for ten minutes, long enough to feed Miss Abigail her food..and Mommy, well, she had to make do with the diet coke she grabbed when getting Adam his nuggets. Hey, it's the Mommy diet!!
Abbey Bits...September Edition
By September 6, Abbey was crawling all over...here she is mastering the little bump between our the living room and dining room!
Abbey LOVES the Zak Brown band. It comforts her in the car. When she was fussy one night, Daddy found a youtube video someone made with wacky shots and graphics to the chicken song at the end of the album (they BOTH LOVE this song.)
By a couple of weeks ago, Abbey is everywhere and even pulling herself up onto Adam's Elmo plane. She also likes to try and pull herself up by the door. Her grin melts my heart...and in my opinion, lights up the whole room.

Hanging Out on September 1st
At the State Fair, I had stopped to buy myself a chocolate chip cookie in the dairy building (of course, these cookies have become the bane of my existence) and saw these awesome sesame street cookies. THey didn't have an Elmo but Adam loves Cookie Monster second, so I thought it would be such a treat. When I first pulled it out and gave it to him, he smiled...especially when I made it talk in Cookie Monster's voice. But as you can plainly see here, he wasn't impressed with it at all. Haha I couldn't convince him to eat it at all! I tasted it, too and well, it wasn't the best tasting frosting but the cookie part was tasty :) I love this little story because it's a great lesson about parenting...you can have a plan, be excited and get your camera out to catch that moment...then, well, your kid just doesn't agree. And there's humor in that!
Our dryer had been squeaking since July. Todd had taken it a part a few weeks earlier to see he needed parts to fix it. Adam wandered out there as he was doing it and immediately started "helping". So cute :)
While the boys were fixing the dryer, Miss Abbey was being super-cute in the living room. All in one month, she was sitting up and crawling just in time for 6-month birthday! She is always happy when I hang out with her on the floor and as she had just started crawling, I could still get her to sit still then...
And of course, Bailey is one of the girls, so she had to hang out with us!
Adam loved Bailey from the minute he was born, but Abbey didn't discover her until she was a few months old. She LOVES her, too and grins when Bailey comes around and can hardly focus on eating if Bailey is in sight. Bailey is much more accommodating to Abbey's loves and touches then to Adam's, but it's probably a combination of being "broken in" and Abbey truly is a little more gentle!
Adam Bits...End of August Edition
OK, so I'm a month behind! But I wanted to share these Adam "bits"...Adam and Abbey play well together and with her really starting to get around at the end of August, Adam was excited, to my delight and not threatened. I love the unadulterated joy on his face...I don't get that much especially when the camera is out!
Adam loves books. Particularly anything with trucks or cars! He looks so grown up here...he loves to read in the car and in his high chair...and here he is sitting at the table like a big boy!
Actually complying with his picture happy mom!
And it got hard to feed Abbey in the Bumbo, but I didn't want Adam to feel "replaced" in his high chair...but here he is for the first time sitting at the table with his plate and a cup just like a big kid!! Sometimes he eats in his high chair, but mostly he's proud to sit at the table.

State Fair 2010
The first Sunday of the state fair, we got up and got in the car and decided to head that way. We got there soon after it opened, which was GREAT. We didn't park too far away and it wasn't crowded...yet. We walked through a lot of the buildings. For some reason, I always really like to see the butter sculpture. I don't know why, it's just interesting to me that someone is creating art out of butter AND it is such a big deal to people. Like, you have to wait your turn to see the thing!
So this McGruff the crime dog was walking and talking. We were strolling past and it started to talk to some other kids. Adam was instantly fascinated. We took him out and he got close...but...when the thing came towards him, he was outta there. And then he used the chance to try and break free and run down the sidewalk! Oh, Adam.
So, no surprise, Adam LOVED the animals (main reason we wanted to take him really as he is too young to ride the rides without someone). He loved the pig with babies he smiled ear to ear when they were sqeauling but his favorite was this goat!!! He put his hands right in there! (I know, bad parents!!)
We ate Dinosaur Bar-b-que...the pulled pork sandwiches were so good...and I fed Abbey her applesauce while Adam gorged on french fries, of course. After about three hours, it had gotten HOT and the kids were DONE!
We got in the car and I asked Todd if he had had fun and he said he liked spending time with us. And I felt lucky because I know after working working 65 hours that week he'd love to spend his weekends vegging out...but he wanted to do something with his family, for his family. And we both love making memories as a family:)

A Moment
I did an entry about playing at Tammy's parents' house, but I forgot this picture. I took it with my camera when I was leaving...the rare photo with me in it and a close up is even harder to come by as I HATE my picture being taken. But every once in a while, I stop and say let's do it and I hold the camera up and around and catch a moment....I probably have a half dozen of this pose from the last ten or fifteen years with Tammy...my how we've changed (man, I look OLD!) and my how we've stayed the same! (I'm aware I've had the same bangs the whole time! Ps best way to cut out a fat neck or double chin is with this technique haha
Playing With Bethany
So in August we went to Friendly's than headed over to Franklin Park...I love this picture of Bethany sliding with Adam...once she started he kept trying to get her to go back!
Brianna is so good with Adam...she followed him around everywhere as I was carrying Abbey a lot of the time. He just loved having her with him!!
We had a lot of fun and decided to meet at Beckwith Park for Bethany's last Tuesday off before school started. Adam hadn't really ever been in a swing like this and he was definitely contemplating while Devin and Bri were so nice to help him out :)
Meanwhile, Beth was hanging out with Abbey..I love this pictures...the looks on my little girl's face are priceless (to me, anyhow!!!).
Showing Adam bubbles...of course he wanted to stick his hands in it...!
I stuck him back in the swing so Beth's kids could eat as Adam was waaaay too excited to focus on eating...typical Adam, he had had time to think about it and is now loving the swing!
Abbey hanging out with the Simmons
Devin doesn't realize it...but he looks like his Dad!!!!
Adam started taking getting up and down this climber seriously...
And running across the bridge that shook was a highlight for my boy! He ended the day with Devin taking him on the big kid slide...it was cute, but I don't have a pic...so you'll just have to image in :)
Good Luck this year as you get your degree Bethany!!

Adam On My Mind
Adam wakes up from his nap either miserable or OK..it's a 50-50 shot. Here he is the other day...he had a good nap but still he wakes up hard and groggy. Adam is clearly tolerating his picture happy mom!

The next day, he was playing with his cars. He handed me the Taxi and sub and I said TWO YELLOW cars Adam! Always trying to teach him...he then went into his room and got the third and brought it out. I was impressed that he went looking for what he thought would match. Then I had my camera out and he acted like he wanted me to take a picture of his cars...he handed it to me...that's usually Adam sign language for do it mom :) So here it is...Adam's first sign of color knowledge....!
Fun at the Palmer's House
A few weeks ago, we went over to visit Tammy at her parent's house when she was home on a Friday. They have a great yard for kids, complete with playground and pool with water slide! Tammy and I took turns using her awesome camera to take photos. Here Adam is having so much fun sliding with Aunt Tammy!!
Being typical Adam and soaking things in...
It was pretty hot and sunny out, but Aunt Tammy tried hard to keep her protected and happy...she looks very content here!
More fun on the slide!
I LOVE this picture!!
Tammy's parents came home with her nieces Mckenzie and Madison...Adam and Abbey were very excited. Look at Abbey's face! So cute!!
Adam was very serious about having fun with this big ball!!
Adam became fascinated with everything Mckenzie did...
I love these photos Tammy took of the two of them checking each other out.
And Adam was intent on digging for treasure...after watching Mckenzie at work!
