It's sad when you're watching "Barbie Princess and the Pop Star" and find yourself looking forward to certain songs.
The princess has a magic hairbrush that can change a hairstyle on command. The pop star has a magic microphone that changes outfits on command. They both wish they were the other and lo and behold, they change each other's hair and dress and looks IDENTICAL. Because choosing between fame and fortune and fame and fortune just seems sooo obvious? Right. Abbey is entering a Barbie stage. And taking her performer thing up a notch. But don't let Adam fool you...he likes this movie, too. Last night, Abbey was making clothes for her Ariel Barbie out of tissue. I guess she needs Barbie clothes for her birthday.
These songs have been in my head all day. They just left the room and I'm sitting here singing to the credits. They are light saber fighting. Adam is Qu Gon or something. He is obsessed with Star Wars way more than his two year old stage. He wants his big boy room to be painted black like Darth Vadar. He can play Angry Birds Star Wars and Star Wars Lego better than a 30 year old, I'm certain.
There was a gas leak on the adjoining block. It was bad. I was worried we'd have to evacuate. Erin came over at noon to cut the kids hair. Abbey hasn't had it done since last spring but she did really well. She got in the chair and was nervous and I ended having to hold her hand and hug her. But she did it. She is learning to manage her anxiety a little. Adam had his hair cut like 6 weeks ago. It grows SO FAST and HIGH!
Abbey starting speech this week. She did fine, both at school and yesterday, at home.
I was proud of her. Adam is addicted to Apple technology. What would Steve Jobs think?
