Valentine's Day 2012

I suppose a Valentine's Day post is a flashback at this point ....but here it is anyhow.  About a week before, my mother sent me candies, which was thoughtful.  They are one of her favorites.

Initially, I was impressed because I actually thought that she had sent them to me because they are made in my birth place.  I was wrong.  She had no idea what I was talking about.  The thought was still nice!
A couple days before I had the kids make Valentine's Day cards for their Dad.  Me, too.  I got the supplies out and had them pick stuff they wanted on their card.
Here's mine...simpler than I used to do but it was hard to work on it with the kids!
Adam's card.  He picked out the red and grabbed the doilies and drew on them.  I put the glue on and he stuck them where he wanted.
Abbey's.  She picked the stuff out....she was just having too much fun with this!!
Her signature :)  I out the cards out in the middle of the night on one of my many wake-ups so Todd could see him on his way out.  I knew he'd love it.
And by the way, this is what the dining room looked like after we were done.....
On Valentine's Day, Adam helped me make brownies while Abbey was sleeping.  As you can see, he was a "natural".
I made the kids these Mickey Mouse heart cookies.
And Adam is still enjoying "making" brownies....
Look at that face. :)
Daddy brought home surprises for all of us....the kids got bears, hearts and chocolates.
So cute!
Adam knew right away to jump in to try and get the candy.
And was all to happy to try the brownies we made.
Abbey liked them, too!
Adam sleeps with his and calls it Daddy Bear.
MMM.....I got a box of chocolates...I had never had Mrs. Fields but they were pretty good!
And some wine.  He got me Francis Copppola's because I'm a proud Italian :)  And we drank it with Canale's, of course.  It actually wasn't half bad.
It was a very nice Valentine's Day.  I didn't get any picture of me and Todd!!  Just me hand and his head.  We are both kind of romantics, so we can't help but be a bit sappy and sentimental on this day.

  1. Love the personal crafting. Cute. So much better than a card bought in the store.
