The Shape of A Day
These are from a one day a couple of weeks ago. They got a set of foam blocks from Uncle Bobby for Christmas, who joked he bought them because he was tired of hurting his feet on the mega blocks all over. (Actually, right this second Abbey is carrying the bag around :) I love this picture because Abbey grabbed the duvet that's usually in the bedroom and made herself a little cozy nook on the chair, hugging her blocks and watching one of her favorite movies...
Tangled. Not that my mother is an evil witch, but there's something she says in the movie just sounds like my Mom...when Rapunzel asks her how she found her, she said she followed "the smell of betrayal". Yep, once Todd says to me heisitantly because he didn't want to offend me...that sounds like something your mom would say. YEP!
Meanwhile, Adam had scarfed a few blocks from his sister, who was hoarding them. He's very into shapes now. There's a song about the three main shapes he makes me sing him before bed every night and he's really learned them. One day he picked up his toast and said TRIANGLE!!! And I knew he had it. This day, he was placing them on his tricycle.
I love how he had a clear reason for how he placed them :)
At Adam's check-up the other day, Dr. Liepke said he was way ahead cognitively by knowing shapes and letters and numbers. Ha. Not ahead on toilet training.
The song starts: "I am a square, I have four sides..."

Sweet that they love uncle Bobby's gift so much. They seem like they are getting semi-used to you taking their picture too.
ReplyDeletePotty training... he'll do it when he's ready. Love the picture of Abbey- she looks so cozy
