Friday, Today

This morning, I opened the back bathroom weighing whether or not to try a shower with the kids since the bathtub is out of commission. Abbey ran right in and said BATH! Bath!! and she opened the door and started dancing in it. We got her in and she liked it. Adam wasn't so excited, but I was very proud of him because he went in long enough to wash his body and wet his hair. For a kid who used to scream when you talked about a shower, he was so brave.

About half the time on Fridays, I visit Erin, but with her two oldest starting at the Christian School this week, she was too busy. I hadn't taken the kids anywhere but for a walk this week, but I took them for another since Adam was pressing his face and said out...side....mamma.... So we went around the block. For the first time, when Adam saw people he SPOKE to them. The professors wife down the street told him she liked his monkey hat...I had to prompt him but he said Thank you. Then he paused and said "Good night!"

Around the other side of the block, he told someone getting out of their car "Hey!". She said hi back, a bit surprised.

It was close to lunch time when we got back, so I figured why not throw them in the car and get them McDonald's. They were so excited...ahhh to be young.

Took them over to Lowe's to get more caulk and also picked up a lamp for my bedroom...have had my eye out for while and I think I got the right one. The A-Team behaved so well in the special "car" cart it has a race car seat with room for two. Abbey was so cute, spinning the wheel and making driving noises the whole time.

We headed out to Granby to pick up Bobby to take him to get his new car. He's been looking for a few months and found an equinox which he really liked. Wished I had taken a photo of him with his new wheels.

Abbey fell asleep for 20 minutes on the way out to get him, so now she's half-tired and whiny because it was so short AND because she was up last night A LOT.

Just before 4 am, I heard her. Her tent had collapsed! AH!! After fumbling with it for ten minutes, I got it half fixed while she watched. We sat on the couch for ten minutes then I put her back in. Then ten miutes later, she was up again. I rocked her and she seemed to fall asleep. Twenty minutes later she was up again. I got her bottle. Then 20 minutes later again. I don't know what was going on . Right around 6, she went to sleep.

Karma. On Tuesday, I said to Todd that it might sound weird, but I missed getting up with Abbey and having our time. She heard me because she's been up every night since. I lied :) I treasure those memories but I'm OK if she doesn't get up anymore!

  1. Hmmm....wonder what she is waking up for. Those little race car carts are so clever. Great way to keep kids occupied. So glad Bobby got a new car. He must have been as excited about that as the kids were about the race car cart.
