A few weeks ago, we went to Todd's nephew Colin's wedding reception. They got married in Maine a few weeks earlier and had a reception there. They walked down the aisle and repeated their vows (and of course my kids were happy to talk through it..Todd had stepped out). They had one here for his family/friends. Kind of odd they way they did it. Not sure why they didn't just invite everyone and then let people choose if they want to go. If you want my opinion, he's embarrassed of some of his roots, but hey, what do I know. They are young. And a little shallow. Ellie spent her night mostly with Daddy. Kathy took her outside at the end of the night to comfort her for a while.
This picture is why people are always telling me how pretty she is. Because she is.
It was Abbey's night. She was the dancing queen. The DJ even dedicated "Tiny Dancer" to her :) She got the other kids out there, too!
We went to check outside when the couple were doing photos.
Abbey was entranced with Becky as she felt she was a princess in her bridal gown.
She kept whispering Princess? in awe.
Adam followed us out. Do you want your picture taken? Sigh. Sure. What a face.
Another stop inside to see the princess...
Daddy and his girl :) Doesn't he have such charming eyes? They pulled me in.
My boy.
Awwww.
I love the look of affection on Abbey's face.
No one seemed to be paying attention when they cut the cake. I totally goaded them into getting messy. I could tell she was pretending to be a good sport. She was pissed at Colin and made him go get her make-up bag right away.
Todd's brother Alan.
Colin and his Dad, Todd's oldest brother Charles.
Eating cake! The food was so-so, but Abbey just lapped up the ziti all over her dress. It actually came out...I was shocked.
Todd's brother Tommy, his daughter Jennifer and ex-wife Jean.
Abbey dancing with the big girls, including Colin's sister Jillian in the black dress.
As we were leaving, I snapped this photo of Kathy with Ellie and Missie, Colin's mother. It turned out to be a decent night and Todd got to spend some nice time with his brothers. The night belonged to the kids. Adam kept sneaking into the bar to "play" the video games. Yeah, he's that kid!

It is sweet when they still love princesses and a little sad when they stop. Hopefully she'll always like to dance.
