Monday Morning

School is cancelled again.  I saw it snowing all night and figured on a two hour delay (did you know they don't have one hour delays around here anymore?) but was surprised that school was cancelled since the sun is shining.  There is a big yellow blob right below me on the radar, so I guess more is coming.  One of the nicest things about being in the city and having a husband with a giant plow is that the snow doesn't get me stuck as much!

The Superbowl actually ended up being interesting enough that I watched the end.  I'm only ever interested in football if it's a close and competitive gain.  Blow outs and obvious winners bore me.  I spent much of the second half of the game after the kids were in bed on the Ipad.  Adam watched the first half with his Dad....who taught him to cheer the Ravens.  He looked like a guy running around cheering in his undies, too busy to get his jammies on, getting popcorn everywhere.  I was rooting for the Ravens.

I may or may not have run to Coldstone Creamery to get myself a sundae around 8:30pm.

Earlier in the day, we hopped in the Mazda and drove up to Denny's, the one on Carrier Circle.  We had gone the week before and discovered how A-team friendly it is.  Half circle booths with a barrier keep them contained, the service is fast and the love the french toast.  It's one of the least stressful places to take them to eat I've been to in a while.  Because their Dad spoils them, they even got the novelty cups, which they loved.  And sucked dry immediately.  Abbey loves the ride back and forth as much as the food.  One of the few time she is actually relaxed...she loves looking out the window and will often get sleepy.

I was set that we had to pick up the Sunday paper somewhere because we cancelled our delivery and I like reading it AND I like the kids exposed to it.  Adam calls the comics "his" paper.  And there's always a couple coupons I like.  But they did change it a bit.  Of course.

My Grandmother Charlotte called last night.  My father's mother, I haven't spoken to her in a couple of years, though I send her photos, cards and flowers on her birthday.  She is 86 and had a stroke a few years ago.  She said she wanted to tell me how much she loved the photos and that she's excited about a new baby.  We need to drive out to Brockport to see her....I could tell she was thinking she wanted to see my kids before she's gone.  She's the last grandparent at all in our families, besides my Mom.

  1. It is really nice that your grandma called. I hope you can get out there soon....and get some pictures of your kids with her if possible. Someday they may like having pics with a great-grandma. Her call shows you that she appreciates the pictures. You've always been good about that.
