My Birthday

I turned 34 on November 18. Birthdays have a different meaning then they used to. When I got fired two days before my 31st birthday, I was done with holidays after that year sucked so hard, beginning around my 30th birthday. But over the last few years, building a new life with my husband and children, there is a more pleasant feeling associated to spending my birthday and other occasions with those who matter the most to me. I have no interest in overblown partying or get-togethers for my birthday...though I love it when my friends do something special for me! And Todd does a great job with birthdays. I should say he and the kids do. In the morning, the kids sent me flowers, balloons and chocolates. It was a nice surprise. It actually made me feel pretty special. Adam loved the balloons. And Abbey the chocolate! Todd came home from work early and went to my favorite...Delmonico's. It was one of those nights where the kids were just being so cute and everyone in our little corner kept saying so. When we came home, we put the kids to bed and when I went to pick up the toys, there was something else on the floor...my new ColorNook! I LOVE this thing...it's like having a library at home. I though I'd miss having a real book to hold, but being old and all, this is really cool because it's easier to read with the back light. :)

  1. Abbey looks so cute with her chocolate box. I make that face when I eat chocolate too.
