I actually got kind of a shot of all three a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty hard as you can imagine. September has flown by in a flurry of school stuff. Adam improved his behavior at school quite a bit with a combination of more attention at home and a reward and take away system. ie: if you behave, you can watch Penguins of Madagascar and use me IPad and if you don't, you will be lying on your bed with nothing to do for two hours or so. He's made friends with the other spirited kid in school...he's doing much better than last year with the social stuff, but he'll always be a bit of a square peg like his Mama.
They've both been sick on and off the entire month, which has not made things easier. I finally feel better. You don't realize how crappy you feel until you feel better.
Abbey likes going to school and is anxious. She alternates between being excited and crying. I realize she's got my stupid anxiety gene. I've taught her that on the days she gets her backpack, she's going to school. That has helped some, but those days are hard as she cries as I take them all into the school to drop Adam off.
Here's a quick shot of the playground at her school. By the time I pick her up, she's usually sad and hiding on the slide waiting for me :( I have to tell myself she needs this.
A recent love of Batman on both kids' parts. I grabbed her this shirt at Old Navy last week (which I somehow didn't realize is the best place ever to get kids' clothes!) She dressed it up with a pink bat cape, of course. The few hours in which Abbey is at school and Adam is not on Tuesday/Thursday is surprisingly hard for Adam. He keeps asking to get her. It's funny how they hate being separated. Here Adam is having a picnic last week with baby Ellie and Bailey, of course, who is just waiting for him to drop things....
I love this time of year, but the last two years, it has slipped by too fast.
Lots to adjust to. Hard to drop off a little girl who is crying, but you are right...she needs this. Sweet to know Adam needs her.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they are both in school now... Love the Batman Tee!
