About Last Week....

Last Sunday, when Todd asked me when I wanted to do, I told him I wanted to see the cottage.  So we drove up to see the cottage.  An hour and a half for a two minute drive-by, but that was fine with me.  It was pretty exciting!  We are supposed to close this coming week so next weekend will be spent starting to get the place in order. After our drive by, in which Todd said It's Blue?  I thought it was white.. we drove over to Watertown for lunch/dinner, trying the TGI Friday's.  Food was good, service was slow. Kind of neat though to start checking out our summer haunts :)

One day, I took the kids outside to our urban waterpark, without the bigger blow up pool which appears to have a hole in two of three rings.   I guess for $7, I got my money's worth.  I let the kids play with chalk while I filled up the other pool.  After that, Abbey wouldn't let it out of her sight.

Adam was ready to go slide :)  An actual POSED photo!
Miss Abbey likes when I throw her down the slide.  Pretty girl
Weeeeeee!  He never gets enough of this.  Abbey only did it a few times, as she was unwilling to let go of her chalk and preferred that I get her with the hose.  So I was trying to pull weeds, squirt Abbey and keep an eye on Adam.  After a few years, I've got this juggling thing down pat, I think.  Well, most of the time.  OK, just some of the time :)
Despite my best efforts, the chalk got wet.  Oh well, so it's a little harder to write with.  Abbey was more interested in hoarding it anyhow!
On Wednesday, I stopped over at the college to take a picture of Allison Thayer.  I interviewed her for a story I did.  She used to be my RA and is now a hall director.  I was  mentor of hers and we chatted for a few minutes.  It was weird that she had gotten OLDER, making me feel OLDER.  Kids were in the car to the left :)
While I was there, Butler hard at work!  It was a crappy day for Todd as someone stole a bunch of batteries from his trucks that night, something he heard in a 5am phone call.
Grandma sent boxes for the kids.  An outfit for Adam and a bunch of Hello Kitty stuff for Miss Abbey.  She promptly put the socks and barrettes in her new purse and put the headband on like a crown.
Friday was the last day of the month.  We went out to the dump to pay the tipping fee and Abbey started saying no no no when we pulled in.  I asked her if she wanted to go in and she said no.  I said even if Adam goes in?  She said no.  I said so you want to stay in the car?  and she said YES.  So I let her. I can see her from the window the whole time.  I am noticing a pattern of the places she doesn't like.  The hallway there is dark.  I'm starting to think she has some anxiety.  She was fine, reading her books as Adam drew a picture with the one secretary who is really good with him.

After that, we drove up to Target.  I decided I needed to relax a bit on the backpack thing and just let Adam pick one out.  Here he is posing in the aisle for me.  A dinosaur one of course!  I wouldn't have picked it, but I'm letting him do his thing.  After I took this, he was so wound up, he started break dancing in the corridor and I had to cart him.  Good thing we were almost done, he started to get wild.
Saturday morning we headed down to the fort playground, something I haven't done much this summer.  They went a lot with Uncle Bobby and I took them a lot last summer.  There was a girl there, 4 going on 5, who Adam just followed around and tried to do the monkey bars like her. I though he was irritating her, but when I said it was time to go she said Please little boy's Mom can he stay :)  It was kind of cute.  But she was busy talking about her upcoming Justin Bieber cake and my son was busy talking about...and acting out...Humpty Dumpty.  Proud to say my kid may be a little special...just like his Mama ;)
Miss Abbey was hanging on to that Strawberry Shortcake doll from her Happy meal on Friday like death.  She held it ALL DAY.  Yet she still managed to climb on everything just fine!  It's amazing to me how athletic she is.
And this was a couple of weeks ago when I took the kids to the mall to get Adam school shoes (Abbey had a minor meltdown, but better than usual for the mall.  I didn't bother to try shoes on her there, though.  I just had them measure her foot then I ordered online).  Adam thought this fake glasses in his kid's meal were hilarious.  He cracks me up.
Today, Sunday, Family Day, we drove around and looked at auction properties for the annual Oswego County auction and stopped at Mama Gina's for lunch.  Neither of us had been there in years, I'm pretty sure I hadn't been in well over a decade.  It seemed fine, but we both ended up with sick stomachs.  Ugh.
