Hair Heartbreak
Abbey cut off Ellie's curls Monday night. I was heartbroken. Abbey got in the trouble of her life.
She doesn't look like a baby anymore.
She can actually carry the pixie look. But I so wasn't ready.
Good news is that Ellie seems fine with it. Abbey stole the safety scissors and had then in her room. They went up to play dress up and then when called for dinner Abbey said Ellie didn't want to come. Red flag. I took what Ellie had hid in her books and held that curl all evening. I felt Ellie had been victimized. Hard to explain but that is how I felt. We found Abbey the next morning sleeping on the couch in the parlor. Apparently, remorse kept her up. At least she felt it.

I'm sorry you feel so sad about it - but this is such a normal thing for young sisters to do...and one day they will laugh about it while you still feel irritated. I actually think that Ellie looks more like a baby - like she is too little for her hair to be longer than that. But I guess it is all perspective.
