Pocono Palace Get Away

Yes, that IS the champagne hot tub.  To get there took us three hours and 45 minutes...and one cop stop.  Yup...  We were starting to feel stressed because the mountains screwed with our phone navigation and weren't sure where we were going and the Todd accidentally blew through a red light.   But... The cop let us go when he heard we were lost and headed to Pocono Palace!  It got me back in a better mood and we got there shortly after.   The lady at the counter told me they feed all the cops for free so that may have explained his forgiving attitude.  I checked in and we drove up to our room, not sure what to expect because of the plain fronts.   There's no windows, Todd commented.  duh I answered :)  We stepped in and boom! There it is the Champagne hot tub.  As cool as I pictured it all these years.  And yes, the heart shaped pool, which ended up being  my favorite.  So relaxing!
Me soaking my feet in it :)   We headed to dinner which was included...we had four choices.  A lot of it was pretty good...rolls dry and my chicken cordon blue didn't set right ...but the sangria may have had something to do with it.  Todd really enjoyed his prime rib.  We then went to the free entertainment ... A magician... In the retro style bar/lounge.  He was funny and entertaining and it was the first time I ever did that.
The next morning, we really enjoyed our breakfast.  This was our view and the food was good.  I didn't get the great night of sleep I dreamed of.  I still woke up every couple of hours, I still had lower back pain and I couldn't sleep past 6:30.   But we both said we felt so relaxed.  Usually my mind is busy with all the things I need to get done, all the things I have to plan for with three little kids and I let that go for a night.  That was really nice.   Long ride back, full of Todd wanting to throttle people over the phone of course lol and home, 27 hours later.  It was nice to get away and loved it, and I also feel more grateful for all that I have each day.

  1. Glad that you got a getaway, even for a day. There are other places to run off to see for a night. Hopefully once every six months you can find one to visit!
