Real Love

I love getting flowers and thoughtful gifts, kisses and hugs are the best. Adore diamonds and cards. But real love can't be said better than this.... Yes, that's our "living" Christmas tree we had big plans for but it all but died as the weather got nice very quickly. Todd went to take it to work to plant it at the yard there as planned and almost all the needles fell off. That morning, I asked him via email if he could just try and save it because I couldn't live with if we didn't try (I know, sentimental to a fault). He came home, dug a giant hole next to our driveway and planted it as best as he could. He didn't complain and he didn't grumble. He didn't call out the fact that basically he was planting a dead tree in our lawn for me. I took this picture soon after, a spot of green. Since then, it has turned brown I don't hold out much hope for the poor thing, though it's skeletal remains stand tall. But every time I get in my car, it's a reminder for me how much I am loved.

  1. When I first saw the picture I was like...oh Lord...does she think she is going to save that? But, the story is sweet. You took your picture to remember it. I think he didn't complain because he understood that it was a symbol of love for him and your family. The truth is...maybe he was a little sentimental about it too!!!
