Evening Love With Dad

Daddy doesn't get much time with the kids.  It would be easy to resent feeling like I do it mostly on my own.  I take them everywhere.  Dragging a toddler everywhere I go.  Except, I know in my heart he wants to be with us.  He isn't working to be away.  He's working for them.  He wants them to have all the options in the world.  And I want the same.  This is a Rare and treasured shot of my world.  Bedtime is me taking kids up one at a time while Daddy spends time with them.  He watches cartoons or sometimes plays hide and seek and huckle buckle beanstalk when he walks through the door, chewing down dinner standing up in a moment so he can have time with his babies.  Girls usually fight for a space on his lap and Adam wants to go to bed last so he and Dad can get some man TV in. Right now, it's the Clone Wars on Netflix.  There are worse things than a father who works hard so he can give his kids the world and I look at the picture and see his love for them and it melts my heart.

Suess & Big Girl Bed

Dr. Suess' birthday was this week and schools use it as a chance to emphasize reading.  I had a Suess dress, of course.  Abbey loved looking through all the characters. 

The kids went around the house hunting up Dr. Suess books. They asked me to get a new one when I went to story hour and carried some in their back packs to read on the bus. 

Ellie Made a Suess cat at story hour but wasn't interested in wearing it. 

And Daddy set up Abbey's big girl bed. She was ready.  I kind of wanted to get her my dream bed as a girl ...a canopy but her ceilings are sloped all over. 

Passed out and all grown up.  Sigh. 

Build A Bear Date

During winter break, Bethany and I wanted to set up a date.  I asked her if they would do Build A Bear as my kids had never gone and I wasn't going at it alone!

Both Abbey and Ellie picked the purple Anna bear and Abbey chose 'I love you' sound and we chose a giggle for Ellie.  They helped stuff and put hearts in them. 

Big brother Adam helped Ellie manage the pedal.  

Adam picked a Storm Trooper bear and recorded his own 'Beware of the Dark Side'.  It's so cute.  And it's even cuter that he gets mad when you say it's a cute.  He says it's supposed to be scary lol. 

Adam picked out a Boba Fet outfit m, Abbey The Anna outfit but Ellie has strong ideas and picked a tutu outfit.  She was so certain it was cute.  Bri made Olaf. 

And lunch at Johnny Rockets.  They only had room at the counter, but it went alright.  It was a good day.
