Week After Christmas Madness

Exhaustion is setting in. Vacations are not vacations for me!  On Monday, we went over to get Adam a hair cut and the first time I don't make an appointment there's a wait.  Adam played PlayStation (he's a video game whiz by the way) while the girls got wild.
Then I said let's grab lunch at the Subway next door.  Was packed and kids were all over.  Adam looks too grown up.  Abbey was upset about his hair.  He gave her his Star Wars sack the kids meal came in which was so sweet.   By the time those two hours were up, I was exhausted but they convinced me to still go to Target, my original goal.
My mom sent Todd this glass.  It's from the movie Christnas Vacation.  Not his favorite movie but he took this pic for her...she wanted a HUGE reaction.  My mom and Christmas.  Sigh.
Tuesday we met Sawyer for Frozen yogurt.  They ran around the place.  Then Adam vomited all over my car.  Seemed fine after.  Abbey wanted to play in the 'snow' I finally relented and let her go out in the slush.  They loved it.
Yesterday, we went to Elijah's in the morning and played. He's autistic and they are SO good with him.  Makes me proud.  Ran home to meet Toby. Adam and Abbey always fight over him.  And my 2 year old ended the day with Freddy kidnapping baby Jasmine from her mama Mulan. And stuffing her in the truck.  Normal behavior, right?

12/21/15

Countdown to Christmas... Abbey wanting to wear her Santa dress to school.  The party at the Moose lodge and seeing Santa really got them revved up.
Daddy working out issues from our foursome visit to the new Star Wars Saturday night.
Ellie packed up her picnic and brought it to Daddy's office and set it up for him.  I dragged her around ALL day and she held it together well.
Getting her neighbor to help get her the mail after the bus comes.
And while dropping Abbey to gymnastics, Ellie started cheering GO ABBEY.  It was so cute!   Adam joined in.
The ornaments I had made for the kids. Yep, Anna and Elsa owls.  It will never go away. At least my infections have.  My ear still bothers me but a rupture takes weeks to heal.

Ellie's Allergy

Turns out Ellie has inherited my pencillan allergy.   Her reaction was much worse than mine as a kid, which was a simple rash. Her body was covered, especially her poor legs. Yesterday, it had improved after two days of allergy medicine.

Adam's Thanksgiving Show

The first grade students at Moses Dewitt puts on a Thanksgiving show for the parents.  Still scarred by me not knowing about the kindergarten Valentine's Day show, Adam checked with my several times to make sure I'd be there.  He did such a great job!  When I think of where he was a few years ago, it's amazing.  I was proud of him.  They alternated between the whole grade singing and each class presenting.  Below is our buddy Sawyer, whose in another class.  He saw me with my camera and gave me a grin :)
This was in Adam's classroom.  So grown-up!
I was harassing Adam for a photo and his buddy Simron jumped in.  Those hats were so cute.
Love these things.  Best moments of parenting.  Seeing them proud of something they worked on.
Walking out with Sawyer.  He's nicer for my camera than Adam.

First Tooth

Miss Abbey lost her first tooth last Wednesday.  She had told me it was loose for awhile, but it only seemed slightly so.  She came into the living room and said my tooth is gone.  What? Where?  Her answers were limited so I walked into the kitchen and saw the dogs sniffing at something.  Thank goodness or I never would've found that bitty thing!  Out came the tooth pillow I had tucked away and she put it in.  She was to excited to hang it up so the tooth fairy had to sneak it out of her bed.  Going rate? $5.   She was excited first thing and put that money right in her bank.  BTW...the pillow had an older version of Strawberry Shortcake on it and she didn't know who it was.  Sigh.  She did see the tooth fairy....she had wings and wore green.

Tree 2015

We started with Denny's Sunday then went to get our tree in a lot in Manlius that's an ice cream shop in the summer.  I took the older kids last year and was happy.  They had been begging for two weeks.
Adam's face is too much I have no idea why he was making it.  We had the guy pull out a few.
They all agreed this was it.  We told them to ask the tree if it were the right one.  You know, because we are weird.
Adam did.
Abbey did.
Ellie was like CHRISTMAS TREE and ran all over. The neighbor told me Monday morning she saw us all with the tree and how sweet it was.  I told her Todd and I were arguing all day and she said Sounds About Right 😂😂. Todd had to cut the top off and put the lights on which I couldn't find then the A team and I hung lights.  Ellie woke up and was in love.  'It's beautiful' she kept saying. Oh, Christmas!

Ruptured Ear Drum

Clear liquid had been leaking out of my ear all last week but my ear didn't hurt and my sinuses were stuffy so I thought it was sinus fluid. Which it probably was.  Which should have been leaking out if my head. Thursday morning I woke in pain. I was volunteering for the kids' holiday shops so I thought I'd break down and call for an appointment the next day.  Turns out I had one for my blood pressure check. I added Ellie, too, as she has been sniffly for weeks.
Good thing I did.  She has an ear infection.  Which took me, a med student, a nurse and the doctor to find out because she wouldn't let the doctor pull the wax out and look.  I haven't given birth to one easy kid.   My ear looked so bad she had the med student exam it.  I now understand the term cauliflower ear.  It hurt so bad the night before and that night it was hell.  Outer and middle ear infected.  I'm on steroid drops I don't know if it's enough.  I feel like crap but the pain is tolerable.   And Adam was SO happy I worked that PTA thing.  That's something.
