April Fool's

Everything cycles.   I'm a little blah.  I still love photographing my children but blogging every moment of their joy doesn't feel as important.  My body is falling a part and my kids are growing up.  Ellie talks like crazy and she's not even two.  Adam is acting out at school.  He acts naughty and doesn't listen.  His speech goals for the year are already met so these weren't the issues I was expecting. Life is full of surprises.  Carolyn made the girls velvet caped for birthday gifts.  Abbey said she was Princess Anna and Captain America.  That's my girl.

Go to Bed

Why bother...I'm always tired anyhow.,,oh because I have to get up in less than two hours.  Abbey.s first dance recital Thursday.   Nervous I'll screw it up but so excited for her!  Snow is melting but then it just snowed a little.   I want to lie in a dark room and nap.

Week Before Move In

This was our room the week before move in.  Carpet that was late delayed our move in.  I ended up commuting three weeks instead of two.  We have three rooms with carpet: ours, the parlor and Orrie's room.  While I love our garden woods, I like it in our room better than wood.  Cozier.  Room used to be a garage, too, so Todd had them put some decent padding in.  Blogger isn't letting me write between the other photos, but you can see we got cable, took out millionth trip to Lowe's and moved in my corner of the road furniture :)  I also went to the auction, they compressed our counter which was cool, took Ellie to Brugger's and they re stretched the bird room carpet.  It was a busy time.  And Kevin had that gorgeous sign made for us....very thoughtful.  And I went to Adam's first Open a House in which he said his parents like to eat cookies in his little drawing.  I don't even really eat them sigh.

Abbey's Five Year Check up

Oh how grown up is my girl.   43 inches and 45 pounds.  She did so well.  She had a little anxiety but was able to discuss it.  Time is marching on.  It's exciting to watch her grow, but sad, too.  Remember when she would flip if we walked through the office door? Not anymore.  She gets her little cup of water from the water cooler and sits at the little table.

Back Trouble

The last week has been all about my back.  I woke up last Thursdsy with awful pain in my right hip and leg.  Soon I could only crawl.  That's right.  In my underweat. Kathy had already been coming to watch Ellie.  She took Adam to school then watched the girls.  Todd came home and took me to urgent care.  Sciatica. Pinched nerve. They gave me pills that didn't work well.  I spent the next few days lying like this.
On Monday I seed to be doing a little better.  I got the kids to school and went to a meeting.   Then yesterdsy it hurt so much.   I hit a wall. I couldn't deal anymore.  I cancelled Abbey's appointment and made one for me.  Got medication that is working.  Also went to the chiropractor. Bulging disc.  Usually happens to people who carry stress in their back or job related.  Both me.  This is frustrating.  It's painful and takes time out of my life.

March On

I, like everyone, am in a bit of a funk and need the snow to melt.  On Monday, I run errands, get home, get Ellie in for nap and just sit down with the heating pad on my thrown out back to hear drip.  Drip.  Drip.   My first instinct is to blame the dogs.  Then I turn around.   The beam framing the bay window is wet on the left side.  And it's dripping.   I call Todd and get buckets. Turns out that gallons of water were trapped on different parts of our roof.  Over the front door, so much rushed down I thought they had a heater up there.  They cleaned off as much was needed without taking to much ice with shingles with it. It stopped dripping.  For now.
Adam keeps asking when spring will be here then talks about it being his favorite. He doesn't care for my answer.
Ellie is a toddler now. Runs off, throws herself to the ground and cries when she hears no.   She wants to be a big kid, making herself at home at pre k.
Abbey is accepting that her birthday is over and planning next year's.  She has a new and sudden obsession with Lightning McQueen.

Ellie will steal snacks at school if they're out.  She takes her coat off even!   My hands are on fire as I type this my carpal tunnel is getting worse.  My physical issues are making me grumpy.
