Adam's First Party of the Year

Adam went to his party of the new year last night.  He had a blast.  He's doing much better with social interaction, but struggles a little still.  Part of it is that he doesn't understand mean people; it just isn't his nature.  But he certainly can tell when they're being mean now.  We talked last night about how if someone doesn't like us, walk away...we don't need them. Don't try and change their mind.  But mostly, he seems to play well and this one boy Denan just adores him!  It's just interesting to me how much he analyzes all this... Don't know where he gets that lol.
And for the record, the moms last night were fairly friendly.  Way less stuck up than Trinity moms.

Moving Day!!!

Saturday was finally it.  I woke up anxious and stressed, knowing I had to get the kids' rooms packed up and ready to go.  The guys arrived with our 'moving truck' at 10:30ish, right around the time Ellie went  off with Beth.  I had actually managed to get the rooms packed in time. They packed up pretty quick, finishing as Kathy came for the A-team.  Adam was happy to help the guys and poor Abbey was scared they'd forget her stuff, so she was handing it to them.  Near the end, she was pretty emotional and I felt bad for her.
Everyone was gone before noon and I ran around tackling the million things left to do before Bobby arrived to load our cars.  I stopped to snap this photo, remembering how my life changed when I stepped through that door almost 7 years ago.
But I was still left with this.  We headed up to drop it off.
And Todd and the guys had unloaded stuff everywhere.
I worked hard to get the kids' rooms ready.
And started our search for local pizza.
Exhausted At the end of the day.  Girls slept well and Adam was up almost
all night.
Sunday was spent trying to get some semblance ofirganization while Abbey sent her dollies swimming.
Off to bed at the new house.  Things went fairly well and the kids love it here.  So much to get done!

Almost there

My thumb is killing me I sliced it open earlier with a thin piece of a broken pitcher while cleaning the drive and it went hard and deep.  I woke up freezing. It's 3:30 am and this is the second time I've woken up tonight after passing out on the couch.   It was so cold in here I was shivering.
  B. Todd took up about 60% of our stuff yesterdy. Such a relief to get stuff out even though we didn't move in like we were going to.  Too much undone.  I love out moving truck.  It means another week of commuting which is really hard.  Good news is that the older kids really seem to be thriving at school.  I have a soar throat.   Ugh.  School germs have begun.

Ellie's Birthday Party

No big party for Ellie's birthday; just close family.  Bobby's wife and her daughter Desiree.
Uncle Bobby sporting a hat. Just cake, nothing else.
His stepson Mathew.
Daddy picked flowers from his mother's lilac bush for his girl's birthday.
Music themed cake because a Tom Cruise I leather pants cake may not have suited the occasion.

Tried her cake with Daddy's help.
She was tired but loved her blanket from Uncle Bobby.
The other kids all loved the cake.
Big girl!
Grumpy but getting more interested in her gifts.
Abbey ready to help unwrap of course!
Adam loves cake...
Love that grin.
Loved her motorcycle from Granndma!
And tried to kids her dolly my mom sent.
Awww.  Simple birthday to mark my Ellie's first year.  I cannot imagine this family without her and her laid back charm and sense of humor.  Her hugs and her dancing.
